Each and every bird house below is built of all wood products and have been built to last for years. They are all built to protect the birds that choose to nest in the home you provide for them. Each bird house has been constructed to stay dry and safe.
Doors that have been hinged to make for easy cleaning have been added to many of the houses you see here. Others simply need to be sprayed out with a hose twice a year or within a short time after the nesting period has ended.
Depending on the area you live in, different birds can use most any of the bird houses below, but hanging them at different heights and placing them according to the birds you wish to attract can make small differences.
Hanging them at different heights brings different types of birds to nest. From my experience, the size of the hole opening is not as important as some of the "experts" say. I find that many types of birds will nest in the same type of bird house, and that 1 1/2 inch opening seems to work just fine for many types of birds. We find that the opening can range in size from 1" to 2" in diameter and will still attract many types of birds.
